Decorate With Me - ECLP Week 18 (Apr 27 - May 3) | Three Day Weekend

Here is my layout for next week and I am so looking forward to a three day weekend with hubby! And as per usual I'm keeping it fairly simple cause for sure these pages will get busy as the days pass :) I used a few sweets stickers for the beginning of the week and some travel stickers on the days we'll be out. Page flags on the days I work and for a few reminders during our trip.

Let's Begin...

Happy watching and I hope this comes in useful:

Decorate With Me - ECLP Week 17 (April 20-26, 2015) | National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week + Bella's Birthday

I got a head start on next week's page decor. I made page flags using the banner cutter I bought at Hobby Lobby and pre printed some To-Do lists, Chores and Work; I measured and cut these to fit the boxes of the morning, day & night then used my Xyron to turn them into stickers. I placed them in the striped black and white mini gift bag. For the weekend I used these cute stickers I bought on Etsy the shop name is "sweetkawaiidesigns". The polaroid photo below of my dog Bella was printed from my Fujifilm Instax Share Printer.

Decorate With Me - ECLP Week 16 (April 13-19) | Anniversary Week

Hello there friends! Long time no post :) I've been away from my blog for a bit due to illness the last two weeks of March. Just needed some time to recuperate and recharge. Now I'm back with a weekly page decor I'd like to share with you. This is the week of April 13th through the 19th in which me and hubby are celebrating our wedding anniversary so I've embellished these pages with our special day in mind.

Here are some photos I took of the aftermath ---

♥ What's in My Planner? - ECLP Monthly Pages Decor ::April 2015::

Hello friends! I'm still new to the planner community and so decor isn't really top notch yet. Since experimenting with different materials, styles and colors I've come to realize that having a theme or motif is key.

Before decorating a page it is essential to put down notes on days, tentative or definite, that serves as reminders or tasks, events, birthdays, appointments ... etc.

When you have your materials and theme in mind you're ready to start decorating. I like to consider holidays or special occasions happening during the month, as you can see the last few days of March starts Holy Week so I used the cross washi to run from Monday through Thursday. I used silver/platinum stickers with Bible quotes and crosses for both Good Friday and Easter Sunday, unfortunately due to the lighting and camera flash it didn't come out obvious.

And since it is Spring I wanted to dress the month of April in yummy pastel colors!

Decorate with Me - St. Patrick's Day week | #catzplanner

Hello friends! First week of March rolled right in just as swiftly as February left, this weekend is Daylight savings so don't forget to adjust your clocks, Sunday is spring forward one hour ~ TIP: we usually do that the night before. We're just about to start the second week and my gosh aren't we moving fast! Anyhow I wanted to share my planner decor for the week of St. Patrick's day and it happens to be my birthday on the sixteenth. I hope this provides some inspiration to those of you who are planner junkies like me.

I like to keep things simple with basic accents on my pages because I will be filling them with sticky notes and writing throughout the week. But I also put a little extra glam on important dates and holidays. Half the time I plan as I go and note things to remember in advance.

pages flags are from Jo-Ann's fabrics

my washi tape box is from Ross

I marked the day I am off with a sticky note to write reminders, activities or errands.

OMG everything you see here is $1.50 each!

I've gone to Daiso before to buy mugs, kitchen items, candies... etc. ya know, just stuff and who doesn't know this place for their super affordable prices? Never have I ventured into the Stationary section so last week I went to the Daiso in Cupertino just to look around and maybe get a few things for my planner... uhh ya right... FAIL! I left the store with a bag full of #kawaii ---

Page flags, folder clips, sticky memos, adhesive memo sets, message cards, letter sets

Pens, more folder clips, scissors, pencil case, paper craft puncher

Washi tape, sticky note set, wooden clothespins

Here's how I got started with my planner:
Planner Decor and Basics for Beginners

Early January I purchased a spiral bound Mead planner at Target (spiral Sugar-Paper planners were all SOLD OUT) but haven't started decorating it till the 3rd week or so. I wanted to keep this one  simple since I will be bringing this  with me  to work and at appointments, pretty much my get-up-and-go planner. I am currently waiting for my order  of the  kikki-K Texture Leather Personal Planner in Mint, this will be my main planner and will remain at home. I will put up a blog post as soon as I receive my new Swedish designed planner! I'm so excited!

Happy decorating!

Daily Dose of Inspiration | Planner Decor and Ideas for Beginners

This year I've decided to go back to keeping a planner - logging important dates, events and tasks that need to be done throughout the entire year on a monthly, weekly and daily basis. While technology provides awesome convenience such as the app Evernote or your built-in phone Calendar, I feel the tug of my creative writing roots.
As a working mom I feel that I've neglected some of my tasks at home. Looking at my mommy duties as a whole it gets overwhelming to know that there are several things that need to be done - cleaning, cooking, washing and organizing clothes and just the fine tune details (aka: Obsessive-Compulsive need to get this and that done) not to include stuff from work that lingers in the back of my mind thinking of what I have to prioritize first thing Monday. #storyofmylife

How I got started  - I had to establish a system that worked for me to get to the bigger tasks and lessen stress, I needed to map out and plan my duties around and during my days off work by jotting down what I can DO for the day and at that time while being creative. I am a visual person and love seeing beauty in productivity, so being artsy in what I need to do helps me keep positive and excited towards work.

fun stickers, adhesive note pads, page flags, washi tape, paper clips and ribbon to make bookmarks, mini clothes pins and colored pens for writing... etc.

My planner is from Target and so are most of the items in this photo, their $1 Spot is a go-to place for me recently and is a cost affective way to get started organizing your planner. I wanted to keep mine simple, pretty to look at, not too bulking and with some sort of template readily made for each page that will ease me into decorating it with some fun stuff. I also checked out the clearance section at Michael's for inexpensive page décor that I know I will use throughout the year.

Here I just used washi tape to separate and accent the days of the week. I also bought a little note pad with a cute quote for some inspiration to write things I need to remember or positive quotes I come across.
