How I set up my Kate Spade Wellesley Planner

For those of you curious or new with this whole planning thing, there are numerous sources of inspiration all over social media. And it's crazy how the planner community has grown especially with all these various shops out there on Etsy that sell a variety of planner supplies and goodies from digital paper, to stickers, cute paper clips, printables, planner charms, and planner inserts. First figure out what planner or agenda best suits you. YouTube and Instagram are the best places to search for trending planners. Once you have your planner and need a little nudge in the right direction with the must-have's, an affordable way to stock up on planner goodies like post it notes, reminder stickies and fun pretty pens is to head over to the One Spot section at Target. Amazon is an awesome online store for stationary and office supplies as well. For decorative elements I always go to Michael's Arts & Crafts, Jo-Ann's Fabrics and Hobby Lobby. It is also fun to check out Japanese stores like Daiso, their stationary section has some of the cutest stuff.

In this blog post I am sharing with you how I set up my Kate Spade planner. By no means am I posing to be a Pro or planner guru, I just love planning! My intention is to simply share with you what I've learned through the months since I've decided to go back to "paper and pen" planning and keeping an agenda with me at all times. My current planner is the personal size 2015 Kate Spade Wellesley red zip with fuscia interior. This has been a discontinued item since last year and can only be found & purchased (pre-Loved and sold by owner) on the Kate Spade Planners Club group on Facebook, that is where I got mine. If you get lucky you'll probably find this on Poshmark. Anyhow the original owner included filoFax inserts but I chose to use the inserts from my Webster's Pages Color Crush planner because they are so beautiful and made of high quality paper.

filoFax Personal Domino in Black

If you are in the market for a contemporary but classy planner and want something handy to bring to work or on-the-go without the paranoia of it looking too girly, then I would like to present to you another personal size planner option which is an addition to my collection... the filoFax Domino organizer. I made this purchase on Amazon and I am a Prime member so this arrived in the mail after 2 calender days with FREE shipping. This item cost me $29.99 in comparison to $36.50 on the filoFax website (Note: this line is one of their affordable organizers, most others costs >$50.00), plus shipping and tax which could well over be around $50 total. I love to shop SMART and do a lot of research and  read product reviews first before deciding to commit to an item. So Amazon has been my go-to online store when wanting to make a sensible purchase of an item worth my money with awesome quality and great feedback.

Here are some photos I took today and hope that by sharing this it provides some help in your decision in purchasing your next or first planner.

I love the black leather exterior, it gives a modern but sophisticated overall look. As you can see it has pale stitching  and a gray elastic band that originates from the spine of the binder that serves as the closure.

The back looks like this with the filoFax logo branded at the bottom.

Along the spine is the hardware that secures the rings and another filoFax logo branded at the bottom.

Upon opening this 6-ring binder system there are a total of 5 cards slots on the left and a slip pocket. The silver rings are 0.9"

Side view laying flat. This organizer/planner comes with a taupe or gray elastic pen loop and has 6 dividers.

There are several pages of To Do's, where you can indicate the date on top, create lists and check off what has been accomplished.

Webster's Pages Color Crush Personal Planner Kit - Teal and White Stripe

the planner comes in a cute box which I think is so convenient for storage
Hello everyone! After careful thought and consideration I've finally decided to purchase my very first Webster's Pages Planner from Scrapbook.com and it is from the Color Crush series. I bought this personal planner kit which includes: a personal size planner with inspiration tag, this is a 6-hole binder system (gold rings), it has 2015 month and week on 2 pages inserts (paper is of excellent quality), a today page marker, 5 dip-dyed patterned dividers plus one cover design, dashboard kit (vellum cover quote, 2 clear overlays, stickers and clear vinyl top loading pouch) and a note pad.

On the Webster's Pages site the actual description of this planner is that it is of split leather inside and out. The ring diameter is 1" - 1.25" and the body or binder size is 5.25" x 8".

For a while I was debating whether to get the solid teal or white color, I waited and waited for them to come back on stock but decided to go to an outside source instead and found that Scrapbook.com has the Teal/White stripe planner available and so here she is ---
